Aliana is an Afro-Boricua decolonial feminist, facilitator, organizer, educator, and scholar from Santurce. Aliana is the Program Strategist at La Tejedora, where she will be supporting the programmatic and strategic development of La Tejedora's pillars and work with Puerto Rican youth.

Aliana comes to La Tejedora Initiative with 10 years of experience working with various grassroots organizations from the archipelago of Puerto Rico, advising and implementing organizational processes and capacity-building that move collectives closer to their liberation work. She is passionate about transforming systems of oppression, specifically colonialist systems with a focus on issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, mental health and climate change. She is an independent researcher for decolonial theory and the work of Frantz Fanon and has shared her work in scholarly circles throughout the archipelago. She is an ally of social justice movements in the USA and international communities serving as bridges for anticolonialist work. During 2022, she worked as Program Manager for the Emergent Strategy Ideation Institute, founded by adrienne maree brown. At present, she thrives doing joyous programmatic and community-building work for La Tejedora and she also co-directs an organization, Pueblo Crítico, focused on training social justice leaders in Popular Education.
