New Report - A Civil Injustice: The State of Eviction in California, 2010–2024
California's eviction courts are broken. This new report from SAJE, Housing Now! and The Action Lab analyzes 14 years of eviction filings and court outcomes across California, revealing a stark picture of systemic inequality: nearly half of tenants facing eviction lose their cases before their first court date, and the counties with the highest eviction rates are often the least likely to report outcome data.
The findings are a call to action for data transparency, procedural reform, and policies that keep people housed.
