Workers, artists, and organizers participate in the “Ball Without Billionaires” protest fashion show in New York City, carrying a “Labor Is Art” banner during demonstrations opposing billionaire influence and labor exploitation around the Met Gala.

On May 4, The Action Lab joined workers, labor organizations, and community members at Gansevoort Plaza for the Ball Without Billionaires.

The red-carpet action centered warehouse workers, tech workers, journalists, and people organizing for immigrant and climate protections. Local and BIPOC fashion designers contributed their work to the event, which challenged billionaire influence around the Met Gala.
