La importancia del espacio físico
El espacio físico es un elemento indispensable del trabajo de The Action Lab. La oportunidad de reunirse, crear, innovar, planificar estrategias, aprender y colaborar es un pilar central de muchos de nuestros programas. La energía colectiva generada cuando las personas se reúnen fomenta una gran cantidad de ideas y sinergias que superan con creces lo que se puede lograr en aislamiento.
Un Entorno Natural para Construir Comunidad y Estrategia
El centro de retiro de The Action Lab está situado en Ossining (Nueva York), en tierras de las tribus Munsee Lenape y Wappinger. El edificio y los terrenos, una rústica granja del siglo XIX, se asientan sobre 16 acres de frondosos bosques y dan a un estanque grande y tranquilo. En toda la propiedad hay abundante luz natural, preciosas vistas, tranquilos senderos, amplios patios y zonas íntimas para el debate, la planificación y la conexión.
Nuestro espacio de Ossining acoge regularmente reuniones, talleres y retiros como parte de la rica gama de trabajo en curso de The Action Laby de nuestros socios. El espacio tiene capacidad para 50 personas en reuniones de un día, y puede alojar hasta 15 personas.

In the Spring of 2025, The Action Lab will open the doors to a brand new space in New York City, on the border of Queens and Brooklyn. The Center for Social Justice and the Arts will be a multigenerational community, arts and cultural production hub that will create opportunities for organizers, artists and change-makers to build community and power. The space will include flexible, multi-use areas for events and programming developed in close collaboration with our partners and the broad social justice community, including gatherings, exhibitions, concerts, talks and a wide array of social justice and cultural offerings.
The new space will also be the home for a new artist residency, allowing a rotating group of artists rooted in social justice work to be supported and be deeply immersed in the various elements of The Action Lab’s programming that most resonate with their work. Resident artists and fellows connected to the Center for Social Justice and the Arts at The Action Lab will have access to the facility’s recording studio, exhibition space, and performance area, making it a nimble home that can serve as both a new organizing hub and a cultural site.
