Tracy Onyx Montes is a museum educator, creative laborer, writer, and pay transparency advocate.

Recent projects include co-producing an educational video for the Frida Kahlo: Timeless exhibition at the Cleve Carney Museum, writing about love and labor for the 2022 regional arts coalition MDW, teaching Critical Thinking & Writing for the Illinois Humanities Odisea Project, designing distance-learning educational programs for the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, working as an adjunct lecturer at the Art Institute of Chicago, teaching art history and Mexican Muralism workshops, and co-writing “Creativity is Boundless” an advocacy guide for artist support organizations and grantmaking programs to make fellowships, grants, and residency programs more accessible to all, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.
